Author Guidelines
PHARMA Multidisciplinary Research Journal (PMRJ) is an open access and double-blind reviewed International Journal that publishes twice a year by Pharma College, Ethiopia. It is intended to be a platform for exchange of information and research results that describes significant advances in all main branches of science or scientific disciplines such as Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Economics, It is committed to publish quality works and serve as a communication medium among professionals, researchers and practitioners, and other interested scholars. It initiates researchers and publishers to focus on community-oriented issues that contribute to link development and indigenous knowledge. Thus, for successful publication process clearly and concisely, all authors must follow this author’s guide in order to publish in the PMRJ.
PMRJ manuscript preparation and style guidelines follow, with a slight modification on the nature of the fields.
Format
The manuscripts should be typed in A4 (210mm x 297mm), 12-point Times News Roman font and must be double-spaced, except indented quotations. The manuscript must be saved as a word file. All pages, including tables, appendices and references, should be serially numbered. Spell out numbers from one to ten, except when used in tables and lists, and when used with mathematical, statistical, scientific or technical units and quantities, such as distances, weights and measures. For example: three days; 3 kilometers; 30 years. All other numbers are expressed numerically.
Language
The manuscript must be written in good academic English. To ensure anonymous review, authors should not identify themselves directly or indirectly in their papers. Authors for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their paper checked before submission for grammar and clarity.
Article Length
The article should be between 4000-8000 words. The allowable length of the manuscript is at Editor’s discretion; however, manuscript with a length less or exceeding the words may be return to the author(s) for revision before the manuscript is considered by the Editors. The word count excludes captions of Tables and Figures, and References.
Title Page
Article Title
Title of the article should be specific and effective, approximately 10 words. Write an article title using simple and straightforward language that can offer readers a glimpse of the content with their first glance.
Graphical abstract
- Give a graphical abstract for all manuscripts submitted to PMRJ
Author name and Affiliations
The full name of each author, affiliation of each author at the time research was completed, and addressed of each author including telegram and email addresses. Where more than one author has contributed to the articles, please provide detail information for all the authors.
Abstract
The abstract should stand alone, means that no citation in abstract. It should concisely inform the reader of the manuscript’s purpose and summaries of methods and findings of the study (Experiments) and its value. For the reviews, summary of each section that is discussed in the body of the Review should be presented in a brief and understandable way. The abstract should be clear enough for an informed reader to understand the manuscript’s contribution. The manuscript’s title, but neither the author’s name nor other identification designations, should appear on the abstract page. An abstract, of no more than < 250 words, should be presented both in English on a separate page immediately preceding the text of the manuscript.
Keyword
Keywords are an important part of abstract writing. Authors should provide 5-7 keywords that are specific and reflect what is essential about the manuscripts to be submitted to the Journal. Keywords and the article classification should be provided after the abstract.
Main Article
Manuscript submitted to this journal should have the main heading as follows:

Artworks
Author must provide high quality artwork for all illustrations. Poor resolution or definition is not acceptable. Tables and Figures should be numbered separately. (Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2). Each table and figure should be given a title and should be presented on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. Figures and tables reproduced from already published work must be accompanied by permission of the original publisher (or copyright holder, if not the publisher). Please, indicate the position of figures, Schemes and tables in the text as follows:
- Insert Tables, Figures and Schemes in the main body in appropriate places. Do not give two figures or Tables or Schemes consecutively.

Questionnaires and Experimental Instruments
Manuscripts reporting on field surveys or experiments should include questionnaires, cases, interview plans or other instruments used in the study as appendices.
Citations
In Vancouver style, in-text citations are usually indicated by a number enclosed in square brackets, while references are listed numerically at the end of the document
- Numerical System: In-text citations are denoted by a number enclosed in square brackets, which corresponds to a numbered reference list at the end of the document.
- Sequential Order: In-text citations should be numbered sequentially throughout the text, providing a unique number for each source cited.
- Reference List: All the sources cited in the document must be listed at the end under the heading "References." The reference list should be in numerical order, following the order in which the sources were first mentioned in the text.
- Author Names: The names of authors are listed in the reference list by using the last name followed by the initials without punctuation or spacing. The author's last name should also be included in the in-text citation.
- Title Formatting: Article titles and book titles should be written in sentence case, meaning only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized. Journal titles, on the other hand, are abbreviated and italicized.
- Journal Abbreviations: Journal titles should be abbreviated according to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) catalog, which can be found in PubMed. If an abbreviation is not available, the full journal title should be used.
- Pagination: When referencing specific pages or page ranges, the format is as follows: page numbers separated by a hyphen (e.g., 123-125).
- Online Sources: For online sources, the full URL or DOI should be included at the end of the reference

References
Every manuscript must include a list of references contain only the works cited. Each entry should contain all data necessary for unambiguous identification. With the author-date system, use the following format recommended by the Chicago Manual Styles (14th Ed.):
- Arrange citations in alphabetical order according to the surname of the author or the name of the institution responsible for the citation.
- Use author’s initials instead of proper names.
- In listing more than one name in references (Molyneux and Thornton,…) there should always be no comma before “and.”
- Dates of publication should be placed immediately after the authors’ names.
- Titles of journal should not be abbreviated.
- Multiple works by the same author(s) should be listed in chronological order of publication. Two or more works by the same author(s) in the same year distinguished be letters after the date.
Recommendations for references are:
- Authors are encouraged to have references mainly from primary source (at least 80% of the references), such as research articles in journal, proceedings, working paper, or dissertation.
- Authors are encouraged to have references that are up-to-date references (at least 80% references dated within the last 10 years).
- Authors should avoid excessively referencing your own work (self-citation)
- Avoid taking too much information from a single reference or do not cite the same references repeatedly.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
